Diverter Valve Motor

The diverter valve motor controls the flow of water with a diverter valve and is an essential component of a heating system. The diverter valve motor directs the flow of hot water by moving the diverter valve depending on the demand. It directs either the central heating system or the domestic hot water system.

Typically, the diverter valve mounts a small electric motor on it. The diverter valve positions itself based on signals received from the central heating system controller. The designer designed the motor to move the valve quickly and precisely, ensuring that it delivers hot water to the correct location when required.

Over time, the valve motor can wear out or sustain damage, which can cause issues with the system’s operation. The valve may not move at all or move slowly, preventing hot water flow due to a faulty motor.

Replacing the valve motor is a relatively simple process that a qualified technician can perform. Ensure proper fit and operation by using the same size and type of motor as the original part when replacing it.

Regularly maintaining the heating system can prevent damage to the valve motor. Inspect and replace the diverter valve motor as needed during the boiler’s annual maintenance.

A heating system requires a valve motor to control the water flow through a valve. Replacing a faulty motor with the correct size is critical to ensure proper heating system operation.
